  1. UK 7-year-old raises tens of thousands for Haiti
Only thing cooler than this would be if the 7-year-old was a student at UK.
  2. Dutch adoption plane airlifts 106 Haitian kids
I’m sure there are other countries doing the same thing. Awesome!
  3. CBS Faces Pro-Abortion Pressure to Scrap Pro-Life Ad Featuring Tim Tebow
If you want to present a differing opinion, buy an ad. This is America after all. But hey, NBC censored free speech last year, what’s to stop CBS from doing it this year?
  4. Rock Band 3 in the works
No real “news” as everyone already knows they’re working on what comes next but I’m anxious for a new release. Not sure that Project Natal would work for this, would it?
  5. Obama Jinxes No. 1 Kentucky
I’m sure our kids didn’t need to get their big heads any larger but what can you do when the President calls. Not a good game for Kentucky.

Sagarin Ranks Kentucky #1 Program of All-Time

It’s been argued long and hard but now it’s official… at least according to data guru Jeff Sagarin, Kentucky is the #1 basketball program of all time. Numbers don’t lie.

I’ve held this position for some time but it’s a close call when you consider that UCLA does have more national titles. Weighting the different variables played a big role on how the final numbers fell out. But I think any UK fan will agree that we deserve the accolade.

Now Kentucky fans can do what they do best… boast!

  1. Pepsi Promoting Gay Lifestyle in New Ads
Too many great choices for beverages, Pepsi is now off my shopping list.
  2. What Data Crunchers Did for Obama
Interesting piece in BusinessWeek. The Dems have done far more with new tech than the Republicans, that’s for certain.
  3. Coach says team played with honor
Girl’s high school team beats another 100-0. Ouch! Not having seen the game it’s tough to see whether the coach was wrong in letting the score become so amazingly unbelievably catastrophically lopsided or whether the Dallas Academy girls team should disband and immediately start counseling sessions.
  4. Most underrated part of inauguration
Chuck Norris breaks down the significance of Rick Warren’s prayer at Obama’s inauguration. And here I thought Chuck was all brawn no brains.
  5. Some UK records won’t be broken
Here’s #1: “I do not think UK — nor anyone else in major college basketball — will ever again match the 129-game home-court winning streak that Adolph Rupp’s Cats compiled from Jan. 2, 1943 to Jan. 8, 1955.”
