Guns Don’t Kill People, Doctors Do
Interesting meme floating about:
FACTS TO PONDER :
(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
(Calculation) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.
Now think about this:
Guns:
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that’s 80 million..)
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.
(Calculation) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188Statistics courtesy of FBI
So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Remember, ‘Guns don’t kill people, doctors do.’
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.
Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!
Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.
Blog While You Can, Free Speech In Danger
Some of the decisions our new administration are making are historic, but for all the wrong reasons. Take this sad development:
Gird your blogs, because if liberals in Congress get their way, President Obama will have sole discretionary authority to shut down the Internet or critical parts of the Internet should he feel his presidency is being tested. Worse, under the guise of cybersecurity, Obama will essentially be granted the power to destroy free speech on the web.
On April 1st of this year, Senators Rockefeller, Snowe, Bayh and Nelson introduced bills S. 773 and S.778, collectively called the Cybersecurity Act, which would give President Obama dictatorial power over the Internet during a time of national crisis or emergency.
The Fairness Doctrine most assuredly isn’t and now this? The citizens need to wake up. Liberal efforts are pushing our country further and further towards socialism and all the lack of freedom that comes with it.
TEA Party Rally in Louisville
Here’s a shot I took at today’s rally to shine light on the waste and neglect of our government. It’s just a starting point. I hope we can continue with the enthusiasm.
It’s not really about party as much as it is about career politicians taking the country where they want it to go rather than where we the people want it to go.
Bubble Spinners Leaves You Dizzy
Oh no! Not another addictive online game Paladin?!? Why do I even come here anymore…
Taxed Enough Already?
If you feel like you are Taxed Enough Already then you might want to join the our nation’s new TEA Party!
Our national debt keeps climbing and by a massive rate—$3.83 billion per day since September 28, 2007! This is not the time for our government to go on a spendfest.
Abortion Activists: The Most Radical Among Us
Promoting death. Simply (and accurately) stated, that’s what abortion activists are doing. Making the deaths of innocents easier and with less guilt. In my opinion, this is evil.
Listen to a couple of these quotes:
“The argument that women who become pregnant have in some sense consented to the pregnancy belies reality…and others who are the inevitable losers in the contraceptive lottery no more ‘consent’ to pregnancy than pedestrians ‘consent’ to being struck by drunk drivers.’â€
Is there a break with reality there? What a poor example.
“The woman is constantly aware for nine months that her body is not wholly her own: the state has conscripted her body for its own ends. Thus, abortion restrictions ‘reduce pregnant women to no more than fetal containers.’â€
The state? The state didn’t “lure” her into having sex. If she should be upset with someone, it should be pop culture with glorifies sex as society’s highest goal. Ok, just one more.
“Statutes that curtail her abortion choice are disturbingly suggestive of involuntary servitude, prohibited by the Thirteenth Amendment, in that forced pregnancy requires a woman to provide continuous physical service to the fetus in order to further the state’s asserted interest.â€
Right. Forced. We should just change the laws of nature so that sex can never result in a human life and then this person might be happy. Curious who said these outrageous things? The answer is Dawn Johnsen. President Obama just appointed her to head the Office of Legal Counsel in the Department of Justice.
I think a moment of prayer would be worthwhile. Then head over to the SBA List and join the fight to protect the unborn innocents.
John Stossel: The Big, Bad Bailout
John Stossel is the man. You NEED to watch his piece called, The Big, Bad Bailout. The bailout is bogus.
Chris Matthews Calls Pro-Life Movement ‘Terrorism’
It’s real subtle how he throws this in there. I always thought Matthews was a bit of a loon. Consider that viewpoint validated.
If this upsets you, send Mr. Matthews an email.
Obama’s Stimulus Package Now Law
This bill is so large it takes an army of lawyers to sort through it and even they don’t necessarily agree about it. One thing is certain, taxpayers are footing the bill—about 10 grand worth for each family.
This from the FRC:
With one stroke of the pen, President Obama vaulted into the record books yesterday, signing what may stand as the largest spending bill ever passed in the history of America. The legislation itself is eight inches thick, so large, a White House aide joked, that it “needed to be strapped in with a seat belt on Air Force One.”
Instead of relieving debt, President Obama’s “stimulus” is expected to add $9,400 more debt to every family in America. According to the Congressional Budget Office, that may be a modest estimate. If the programs created by the stimulus are made permanent (as the late President Ronald Reagan said, “A government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth!”) the 10-year cost of this bill will be $3.27 trillion–almost triple the initial amount. Let me put that into perspective. If we spent a dollar every second, it would take 31,688 years to spend one trillion!
Unfortunately for U.S. taxpayers, there seems to be no caboose on this money train. The ink had barely dried on the stimulus before President Obama called for another $50 billion to stabilize the housing crisis. The auto industry is also striking while the money press is hot, lining up for another $17 billion handout–on top of the roughly $20 billion carmakers already received from Washington. Wall Street’s finest are not far behind, as plans for a TARP 2 (Troubled Assets Relief Program) are already underway.
Go back through our history and you will not find a single case where an increased tax burden increased economic activity. I understand why the Democrats play the “tax and spend” card but what I don’t understand is why so many people vote for this methodology, especially since there’s no track record of success.
It is words over actions yet again.
Obama Removes Roadblock to Taxpayer Funded Abortion Overseas
This from the respected Susan B. Anthony List. It seems Obama has wasted no time to make the world a less safe place for unborn babies.
“… From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” -Luke 12:48
January 23, 2009
Dear Friend,
Sadly, what I have been warning you about has come to pass.
Today, in a quiet, low-key ceremony, President Obama, has overturned the pro-life Mexico City Policy.
The Mexico City Policy, which President Bush enacted on his first day in office, was originally established by President Reagan to keep your money from overseas abortion providers.
President Obama campaigned on finding ‘common ground’ on abortion policy, but his first presidential decision to roll back the commonsense Mexico City Policy signals to American taxpayers that the abortion bailout has begun.
It’s unfortunate that President Obama has made subsidizing international abortion groups one of his first priorities, even as abortion numbers here at home are on the decline. America should respond to women’s needs in developing countries with real assistance that also upholds their dignity, not by promoting or paying for abortions.
I am disappointed by President Obama’s decision to bypass the will of American taxpayers and promote the radical agenda of Planned Parenthood and the abortion lobby.
President Obama tried to pull a fast one on the country by holding a quiet ceremony on a Friday evening when the mainstream media wasn’t paying attention. President Obama must know how unpopular the funding of international abortions is, if he is trying so hard to hide it.
Thanks to your support we are able to make sure that the American people know what President Obama is up to! With your continued support we will be able to stop him from giving more money to abortion providers.
For Life,
Marjorie Dannenfelser

More Abortions a Priority for Obama Administration
People joke about the end of the world. I just wonder how long God can hold back while we choose to kill more and more unborn children. Honestly.
On the first day of the 111th Congress, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) sent a very clear message about what pro-lifers can expect from the next two years by introducing S. 21, “The Prevention First Act” that would direct hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to the abortion industry, a business that already receives over $286 million each year from federal taxpayers.
It should come as no surprise that Planned Parenthood, the largest supporter of unrestricted abortion, praised the bill. And why not? The abortion merchant will likely be the largest beneficiary of Reid’s abortion bailout. Among other things, the legislation would use taxpayer funds to mislead people about the potential of the “morning after pill” (known as Plan B) to act as an abortifacient.
It also encourages the use of Plan B for victims of sexual assault yet has no reporting requirement in place for young girls who may have been victims of abuse and/or rape. When you get right down to it, the bill does nothing to support parental involvement–let alone consent–for dispensing the morning after pill and other “contraception” to minors.
In addition to funding Plan B, the measure would also: subsidize birth control for college and low-income women; expand Title X, the main federal family planning program that requires abortion referrals; expand Planned Parenthood targeting of low-income women through Medicaid; target teens’ with “comprehensive” sex education; and spread emergency contraception. [from FRC]
I’d love to stand by and watch Harry Reid explain to God how this could possibly be a good thing.
There is nothing so evil that the human mind cannot rationalize.
I came up with this a while back thinking about how some people can defend such evil propositions, such as abortion on demand.
There is nothing so evil that the human mind cannot rationalize.
Today I read another sad example.
Roseanne Barr Has Lot Her Freakin’ Mind
Never thought I’d be linking to Roseanne Barr’s blog but here’s why:
“Exactly as its Nazi mentors did to the Jews of Warsaw, Israel now bombs innocent civilians who have been imprisoned in concentration camps in Gaza!”
Wow. But that’s not the best of it. Head over and read some of her asinine crap. I think it’s time she goes back to over-medicating herself because this stuff is clearly poisonous.
Blagojevich Has Ties to Obama; Aide Confirms Then Denies
Does anyone believe anything coming out of the mouth a politician or his people?
President-elect Obama has called on Governor Rod Blagojevich to resign for allegedly trying to trade favors for Obama’s vacant Illinois senate seat. Although Obama says he had no contact with the governor or his office on the matter, in an interview last month on Fox News Chicago, top Obama advisor David Axelrod said otherwise.
“I know he [Obama] has talked to the governor — and there are a whole range of names, many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them,” said Axelrod.
Yesterday, Axelrod issued a retraction, saying “I was mistaken….They did not then or at any time discuss the subject.”
Astounding, but not really. [link]
The End of the World Draws Nigh
As many in our country are approaching Christmas with the idea to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the world seems to be moving in another direction. This morning I read that Planned Parenthood of Indiana is promoting the sale of gift certificates this Holiday season.
So… in the celebration of the birth of Christ, we’re supposed to purchase gift certificates that go towards the death of unborn babies.
*silence*
I freeze and try to fathom how God in heaven stands by and watches how we humans make choices so obviously evil.
With the incoming Administration and their stated beliefs that abortions should be more readily accessible and paid for by tax dollars, we can only expect the total number of abortions in America to increase.
If you’re interested, here are the facts on abortion in the United States.
