Fastest Musicians Vids
I can’t tell you where I found these because it’s not the kind of site I like to promote so instead, I’ll just link up the YouTube clips and you can pick and choose. Enjoy!
- Guinness World Record Todd Taylor Fastest Banjo
Pretty freakin’ fast! - WFD – Mike Mangini – World Record (1203 Single Strokes)
Yeah but… it’s not really musical at this point. - The fastest harmonica player in the world
I guess so… - Possibly Worlds Fastest Piano Player Tim Buie
Now that’s what I’m talkin’ bout! - World Record Guitar Speed 2007
Plus that’s one sweet guitar *uh hmm* - Fast Hands – Max ZT
Now that’s pretty slick! Give that boy some props even if some of those notes are off.
Even still, none of these impress me like this guy.
Incredible Street Guitarist
I’m very close to being speechless… this guy is awesome. Just click the link and enjoy!

Simply The Best… Not
When I put this post in the “Music” category I need you to know that I’m using that term quite loosely.
Odds for GH3 Songs
Bodog allows you to bet on most anything (purely for entertainment purposes, of course) so it’s not surprising to see them post odds for which songs might land on the upcoming release of Guitar Hero 3 in the fall.
5/1 – Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne
8/1 – Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin
12/1 – Black in Black
20/1 – Walk This Way by Aerosmith
/Paladin throws down a ten-spot on that AC/DC song
More GH80s Songs Revealed
More Rock the 80s songs for Guitar Hero!
- 18 and Life (as made famous by Skid Row)
- Bathroom Wall (as made famous by Faster Pussycat)

- Nothing But a Good Time (as made famous by Poison)
- Play With Me (as made famous by Extreme)
- Shaken (as made famous by Eddie Money)

But you know… I’m not really very jazzed about these picks. Maybe my hopes were too high but c’mon… Eddie Money? Extreme?!? I know for a fact that these weren’t listed on the official GH forums. [via Kotaku]
Musicians Hack GH Controllers
Guitar Hero is completely cool, in my book. So… I’m pretty interested in learning about all the latest developments. These guys hacked the controllers to somehow play real music. Now, if only their music was any good.
But you’ve got to hand it to their ingenuity. It was probably a pretty tricky problem to solve and now they can say they did it first!
I’m a Guitar Hero Legend
Did you see that headline? I did it! I’ve accomplished my goal. I beat Guitar Hero 1 & 2!!
(Did you ever think you’d be reading those words coming from a 41-year-old Real Estate agent?)
Now the task becomes, how can I get a copy of Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s before it’s officially shipped? Any ideas? I’ll pay! Big money!
Government Wants to Overtax Internet Radio
Yet another example of what government does best—find new ways to take our money. Please take action. BTW, Pandora is awesome!
Hi, it’s Tim from Pandora,
I’m writing today to ask for your help. The survival of Pandora and all of Internet radio is in jeopardy because of a recent decision by the Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC to almost triple the licensing fees for Internet radio sites like Pandora. The new royalty rates are irrationally high, more than four times what satellite radio pays and broadcast radio doesn’t pay these at all. Left unchanged, these new royalties will kill every Internet radio site, including Pandora.
In response to these new and unfair fees, we have formed the SaveNetRadio Coalition, a group that includes listeners, artists, labels and webcasters. I hope that you will consider joining us.
Please sign our petition urging your Congressional representative to act to save Internet radio:
Please feel free to forward this link/email to your friends – the more petitioners we can get, the better.
Understand that we are fully supportive of paying royalties to the artists whose music we play, and have done so since our inception. As a former touring musician myself, I’m no stranger to the challenges facing working musicians. The issue we have with the recent ruling is that it puts the cost of streaming far out of the range of ANY webcaster’s business potential.I hope you’ll take just a few minutes to sign our petition – it WILL make a difference. As a young industry, we do not have the lobbying power of the RIAA. You, our listeners, are by far our biggest and most influential allies.
As always, and now more than ever, thank you for your support.

New ‘Awakening’ Video from Switchfoot
From the band:
The traditional concept of a music video can be a bit surreal, lip-synching to your own songs can feel especially comical at times! With this irony in mind we wanted to make a video that doesn’t take itself too seriously, even if the song itself is dealing with weighty issues… to make a music video that tells a different story than the song is already telling us. The song exists in a space entirely on its own, and nothing will ever add or subtract from what the song already is- why not use the video as a vehicle to go somewhere new? Somewhere that the song hasn’t already been on it’s own? So here, my friends, is an attempt to do just that.
Personally, I just think it’s freakin’ awesome that they’re playing Guitar Hero!!
Mutemath’s Typical Reversed
Drew found the backwards Typical video reversed which, well… makes it forward; the people forward… the music is still reversed. Confusing huh?
But the thing that’s so crazy is that Paul Meany is lip-synching the lyrics that are being played backwards. I wonder how long he practiced to get it right? I thought that CGI might have been utilized. Looks like I was wrong. [via Gizmodo]
Mutemath ‘Typical’ Rewrites Time
I’m blown away. I can’t even fathom how they created this video where it looks like everything is running backword but where certain parts are moving forward.
Listen to Rush’s ‘Far Cry’
You won’t be able to buy Rush’s new Snakes & Arrows album until May 1st, but you can listen to its first single, Far Cry, right now! Just head over to Rush.com. Sounds cool. Very much like a Counterparts song.
It’s so great that Rush just keeps on rockin’!
Time Is a Train
I’m ready
Ready for the laughing gas
I’m ready
Ready for what’s next
Ready to duck
Ready to dive
Ready to say
I’m glad to be alive
I’m ready
I’m ready for the push
