As a poor white boy who used to break to everything from Planet Rock by Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force to Jam On It by Newcleus, we used to watch Electric Boogaloo I and II to try and learn new stuff. I have NEVER seen a dancer so unreal as Marquese.

Top 10 Alternative Songs of 2010

Check out the Top Alternative Songs of 2010 according to the good folks at AOL.

Alternative to me means taking chances and some of these are just too mainstream, IMO. Not that I don’t like them, I do. Plus, music is such a subjective medium.

I do like Muse. They’re is an immensely talented band that does some fun and crazy stuff.

Anberlin does a few strange takes but I’m not sure I’d call them alternative. I do however think it’s good to see them getting some secular press given their allegiances.

(A few of my favorite alternative bands, Mutemath and Angels & Airwaves didn’t produce anything new in 2010.)
