What Is an Evil Action?
What is evil? This definition is very clear:
Anything which impairs the happiness of a being or deprives a being of any good; anything which causes suffering of any kind to sentient beings; injury; mischief; harm;
So, is someone who doesn’t actually commit the evil act, but rather, protects and supports the person doing the act, also evil by relation? Most would agree that this is true. With that said, Sen. Santorum is being persecuted for something he didn’t say while Sen. Boxer has worked for years to protect the people who kill babies via abortion. Boxer’s stance on partial birth abortions is pure babble. While the gay journalists would want you to think that Santorum is evil, those shoes actually fit Boxer.
Man Immune to Pain
Men being men will gather and watch sports, drink beer and punch each other in a show of machismo. But that’s not what it means to be a man. THIS is what is means to be a man and this is what he looks like. I haven’t been this awestruck since the time my friend Eric drank 29 pints of milk and didn’t blow up.
‘Drink in My Hand, Toes in the Sand’
Need some vacation ideas? My Dad found Vacation Rentals by Owner, which makes it easy. Now, Boca… or Maui…
How Male Is Your Brain?
How male or female is your brain? [These tests take some time, but I got EQ: 25 which is low even for a male. My SQ was 33, also more male than female. What does this tell me? I think I already knew that answer.]
What a Topsy Turvy World
Heard this ironic twist on Paul Harvey today.
The world has to be upside down.
When the best rapper is a white guy.
And the best golfer is a black guy.
And the Swiss hold the America’s Cup.
And France is accusing the United States of arrogance.
And Germany does not want to go to war.
Tesla: A Man Driven
Nikola Tesla, The Master of Lightning, was an extremely smart, albeit strange, man who wouldn’t let other peoples criticisms stop his drive to invent. He was most assuredly, one of the greatest inventors of the modern era.
Send Him a Bluey
The Brits are “sending the love” to their troops via the e-bluey. This process is based largely on American technology, so why aren’t we Yanks doing the same thing?
Joy in Baghdad
There is euphoria in Baghdad for the Iraqi people who’ve long be under the foot of the tyrant, Saddam Hussein. The war is not over, but it’s clear that the people of Iraq are truly grateful for what the coalition forces have done for them. If you don’t believe it, you probably have a hard time believing that the world is (in fact) round.
Bees, Bees and More Bees
Whatever you do, DON’T wreck your truck on I95 carrying a load of over 80 million bees. You’ve been warned.
‘Saving Private Lynch’
With so much unpleasant news in this time of war, it’s uplifting to hear about the US rescue of POW Pfc. Jessica Lynch.
Circles of Hell
If I’m reading Dante’s structure correctly, when Uday Hussein arrives in Hell, he should expect to be sent to Circle 7 (Round 1) for his eternal address. But you know? He could work his way down to Circle 8 if he really applies himself. He’s done some truly horrific things to his own people merely to give himself pleasure. Sharar Haydar, a former Iraqi soccer player is glad that the ill-named Olympic Committee headquarters was destroyed. I heard today about another Iraqi weight lifter who when he heard that “they were coming for him” decided it better to kill his wife, children and then himself, rather than let everyone be tortured. That’s so incredibly horrible, I can’t even respond to it.
What Are the Best Jobs?
I’m up on the 23rd floor and a window washer is working on a nearby window. I just have to wonder how much money do these guys make for their seemingly dangerous job? But is it really dangerous? Or would it really be fun? What are the best jobs? Hmmm…
Kick the Habit
Are you a smoker? Do you find yourself scrapping through your couch cushions for some extra change just to pay for your 4 minute fix?
Consider this: More than half of all smokers smoke 3.5 packs a week. At an average price of $1.96 a pack, that’s $5.88 a week, $305.76 a year. If your my age (33) and you live another 43 years to a ripe old age of 76, you’d spend $13,147.68 on cigarettes. And this doesn’t factor in the extra money you pay for health and medical insurance. Now, if you quit, and put that same amount of money in a Roth IRA ($25.50 a month), and invested it in an stock index fund which, historically, have averaged 10% per year, you’d have $218,000 bucks! That’s a few weeks in the Caymans, a new Porsche, a few hundred trips to the movie theater to see whatever Matrix sequels is out at the time, and all the Twizzlers you want to eat while your there.
A nice reward for giving up a nasty habit. Puff on that one for a while…
Like France, We Surrender
Saddam wants us to think his country is united in their nationalistic efforts. But ask the average man on the street and they’ll tell you they want somebody to get rid of Hussein. Even his troops are already trying to surrender.
