Welcome to the Dojo 10/23/11

Is this the safest motorcycle ever? It could be that and more!
  1. Part Motorcycle, Part Car: Vehical of the Future?
There are an awful lot of pros to LIT Motor’s concept. Since it’s the safest motorcyle ever, maybe my wife will let me finally get one? Nah…
  2. Twitter Founders Back a New Start-Up
Plan to achieve your goals. Little good comes easily so use what you’ve been given to work forward. I just talked about this Agents: Do You Have a Real Estate Plan for Yourself?
  3. Visual thinker Sunni Brown ‘Gets It’
Not sure why people forget that we humans are visual first. All the other senses take a back seat.
  4. Man, 91, gives millions to foster home
More news needs to be positive news, like this. God loves a cheerful giver. Great job Al Azus!
  5. Army Major Helps Afghan Boy Get New Life
Army Major Glenn Battschinger is a great example of the kind of great people that serve our country in the armed forces. Not to mention the foster family who’s keeping him until he returns to Afghanistan.

Amazon Email Scam, Careful With Your Spam

Just received a VERY convincing scam email. Looks like this is from Amazon.com, right? See for yourself.

No legitimate company will send you a file via email. None.

If you get an attachment from someone you don’t know, 99.9% of the time it’s an email scam… don’t open it!

Find Golf Courses, Save Money and Keep Track of All Your Gold Scores

A friend of my came up with this cool idea. So what did he do? Instead of doing “nothing” he built it!

Avid golfer? You should check out DivotDog!

DivotDog helps golfers find golf courses and save money on their tee times. Golfers can also get statistical analysis of their game.

I think that’s pretty cool. How about you?

Welcome to the Dojo 9/12/11

Never need to retune your guitar again with Evertune. Yeah, that sounds like a commerical but I don’t care… how cool is that?
  1. Evertune
Keep your guitar in tune forever. Yes please! Invention of the Year Award too.
  2. Florida Man Sets Blood Donor Record
A simple idea combined with dedication has likely made the difference in hundreds, if not thousands of lives. John Sheppard is a hero!
  3. He saves comrades, gets medal, shrugs
A story like this doesn’t get enough run. Instead we idolize self-centered sycophants. I wish more people were like Matt Blain. Perhaps we’ll send all of our kids through the military whether they want to or not.
  4. Man Makes Movie Magic with Trees and Trash Cans [video]
Dude certainly has a knack with realistic sound effects.
  5. Tiny Oxygen Generators Boost Effectiveness of Anticancer Treatment
Pure oxygen. Even a non-scientist like myself undertands why it would help. Won’t be long until we all sleep in oxygen tents. Bank on it.

Prayer works…
  1. Oregon Boy Survives 20 Minutes Underwater
We will not know for certain but it could very well be that the prayers of those on the beach saved this boy’s life.

The world needs more people like this. And our media needs to report stories like this more often!
  3. India’s Tata group to sell $700 flat-pack house
Low income housing for realz! But where do you put it?
  4. Study Shows Good Posture Makes You Tougher
And here I thought it just made me more attractive to the opposite sex?
  5. Churches open walls to art
It’s a reaching out that shows the world you value them, what they like and ultimately shows them love.

Take her to the rack Gertrude!
  1. Grannies Practice for Basketball Tournament
    Gam Gam gots game…. lookout!
  2. New app allows your unborn child to choose his/her name
Screw parameters! Babies should have free reign to choose names like, “Gurglegorp” or “Fsizerbak”.
  3. The Costs of Compulsory Education
I’m down. Indoctrination is a dish best served in the guise of a gift.
  4. Why WSJ Mobile App Gets ** Customer Reviews
Sometimes usability isn’t as easy as you might think. Big boys WSJ failed.
  5. This is why your website sucks
He’s right, most Web sites do suck because people build them for too many competing causes, then make them worse by either not updating to tacking things on in ridiculous places. Argh!

Welcome to the Dojo 6/20/11

Can you believe someone built this? Oh sure. But do they live there?
  1. The World’s Most Awesome and Amazing Houses in Lap of Nature
    OH MY GOOTNESS!
  2. Kobe Bryant fined by the NBA for shouting a homophobic slur
Look, I dislike Kobe as much as most non-Lakers fans (and people who generally opposed rape) but when did our country become so thin skinned? Calling someone a name might offend the person being called the name but the rest of the world should just shut up and grow up.
  3. Commendation for regular guy, rising to rescue
THIS is the stuff the news should be spending time covering. Robert Casey is a hero. Yuri Mikalixen is a scumbag who deserves to be castrated. Booyah!
  4. An Experiment in Modern Recruiting News
Oh yeah baby… everything on the Internet is true, er… except when they tell you it’s not. Thanks Jonathon Paige!!
  5. Louisville One of the ‘Top Cities to Raise a Family’
That’s why we’re here. No wait, that’s not why. Louisville is great because we’re here!

Is artificial photosynthesis possible? Looks like it is.
  1. Chemists Turn Gold to Purple – On Purpose
The useful part of this story is that a fuel cell can be created using a common protein.
  2. Blood Test to Spot Cancer Gets Big Boost
    This would be absolutely HUGE!
  3. How to recycle that old Apple iPhone or Android smartphone for cash
Yeah, but how much cash? hehe
  4. Okla. Boy Delivers Baby Brother At Home
8-year-old comes up big, helping Mom. How cool is that?
  5. Grandmother Helps Beat the Infant Mortality Odds
“An 81 year-old grandmother runs one of the most successful birthing clinics in the nation in the city with the worst infant mortality rate.” Life is precious, don’t forget that.

Welcome to the Dojo 1/30/11

This movie will be awesome or completely suck. No other option.
  1. Love – Trailer
Angels & Airwaves is trying something new. Gotta love the production value and soundtrack but who knows if the story will hold together.
  2. Your Good Samaritan stories
In our world, we all need more stories like these. Must read!
  3. Kermit Gosnell Abortion Clinic Was Not Inspected For 17 Years
That’s the least scary thing you’ll read if you Google Kermit Gosnell, an abortion “doctor” who is accussed of keep dead baby feet as trophies and drugging/tying up women before their abortions. Yet this kind of monstrous news largely unreported by our mainstream media. Cowards.
  4. Why Real Estate Is a Good Investment Now
In every economy there is a way to excel. In this down housing market, buying up bargains and renting them out is one such way.
  5. Nonprofits turn foreclosures into first homes
Such a great concept if they can make the numbers work. Here’s a thought, what about the next-gen demolition company that helps clear a parcel of land for future development?

She watches faithfully, if not with joy.
  1. Nuns and NCAA Hoops
Interesting read. So morality does matter?
  2. This Is Your Brain On Video Games
Uh… isn’t any time that you’re focusing on one thing that everything else becomes, what was I talking about again?
  3. Change we can believe in
Great story by Rick Reilly (who I normally don’t care for) about how very broken the college football BCS truly is. Only problem is that he’s putting his trust in Obama to fix it. Uh huh.
  4. Everything you need to know about the Verizon iPhone (FAQ)
Everything?!? Liars! I just wanted to know if the Verizon iPhone made my kids like me more…
  5. Why Birds Sing
Easy… God made them that way.

Electoral College United States change after 2010 elections
  1. The 2010 Census: Fastest growth in the low taxed Republican States
My personal opinion was that a large number of people were leaving California but this chart showings is mostly the Northeast U.S. that’s losing people, primarily to the the South and Southwest.
  2. Chasing the Ball | Will Louisville ever be able to land an NBA franchise?
I think the biggest factor in the CBA is ticket prices. They have to be low enough that an interested family could take in 4-5 games a year, IMO.
  3. Donations Pour In, Give Hope for Boy’s Christmas Miracle
It’s people giving to people in need that’s true compassion. (Seth Petreikis)
  4. Car That Runs on Thin Air
It runs on compressed air. Didn’t know that was even an option?!?
  5. Retiree gives $10,000 check to California
While I applaud the integrity of Dennis Ferguson to pay back money not required by law, it’s going to take far more than a few Mr. Fergusons to help California with their debt problem which I predict will eventually default on, at which time the Federal Government, if still led by Democrats, will leap at the chance to bail them out with everyone else’s tax dollars.

Fewer titles but flash has gone up. How about more intelligent design?
  1. Gamespot: Year in Review
Not sure about all those titles, I’m still stuck on Left 4 Dead 2. O.O
  2. Mark Cuban exploring BCS alternative
I love Mark Cuban. *shhhh* Don’t tell my wife. The BCS isn’t very good, why shouldn’t we try to improve it?!?
  3. The Drunk and the Hypocrite
“Switchfoot’s Jon Foreman on what churches can learn from bars.” [via Thunderstruck]
  4. Housewives of God
I applaud the Times fair discussion of Priscilla Shirer. No agenda. Good job! [via Thunderstruck]
  5. Marines: A Vote for Repeal Is a Vote to Sacrifice Soldiers
The homosexual lobby will push until they get what they want, rather that is fair or smart. Like a spoiled child, they’ll just whine and fuss; call other people names and cry about how offended they are. Clear minds should see past it. #DontAskDontTell

Best Online Article Sites

I’ve recently been working with a few of these free online article sites in order to improve the SEO on certain sites I own/manage. Just wanted to make a quick post to let you know, that the few below work quite well.

I do not, however, recommend the following site(s) for either ease-of-use or performance.

The following still need to be evaluated.
