‘Dark City’ Feeds ‘The Matrix’

Dark City isn’t a great movie. But it is a great idea poorly done. In fact, it has so much in common with The Matrix, one of my all-time favorites, that I wanted to see when it was created. IMDb tells me 1998. Hey, wasn’t Matrix made just one year later?

I’ve got 24 dollars that says the Wachowski brothers watched an early screening of Dark City while writing their film.

I made it the 6th level then took this screen shot. After having the music drone directly into my cerebellum I was hunting for the sound mute and accidentally started the game over. Argh! Maybe that was part of their ploy?

‘Mote’ Head and Shoulders Above Most Sci-Fi

Just finished reading The Mote in God’s Eye and I must say I’m impressed.

It’s a powerful story of mankind’s first encounter with alien life. The Moties are seemingly far past all our capabilities but are they hiding something? Engaging tale throughout so I won’t give anything away. I highly recommend. 8 out of 10

New Rock Band DLC Coming

Looks to me like that STP song is worth the DL. Only thing is subject-matter for my young boys. Probably should hold off.

Future DLC for Rock Band?

Kotaku is reporting that some inventive hacker has discovered a list of songs embedded with the code of the game. Because many of these songs are already in the game or part of DLC, people are surmising that the rest are soon to come. Could be?

There are a couple noteworthy songs in this list but not nearly as many as I had hoped. Has music passed me by? Am I getting old? Or, is Harmonix just not very good at securing good music for their games?
