Matrix: Reloaded
I saw Matrix: Reloaded last night. And I don’t know what all the naysayers (49,800) are talking about. The latest installment built on the originals ground-breaking special effects with jaw dropping cinematics. And the storyline grew in scope, while building on initial premise. Except for a few overzealous Hollywood tendancies, I thought the movie was easily as good as the first Matrix. In fact, it rocked (149,000)! The best part? We don’t have to wait a year, for Matrix: Revolutions.
Filet O’ Fish Is Down. Sell! Sell!
Don’t say I’m crazy, some people do use Big Macs to making investing decisions. And only some of them are kooks.
Half Life 2 Announced for 10/03
After a 5-year haitus, Half-Life is finally going to have some offspring. Half-Life 2 is slated to be released in on September 30. I’m sure it will be good, but with this kind of wait, shouldn’t it be stellar?
Alcohol and Alligators Don’t Mix
What do alligators, an angry drunk woman, gunfire, a lake, and a 40-year-old lifeguard have in common? They were all together in St. Petersburg on Monday.
Mel Gibson to Do Passion Movie
Mel Gibson has done some great work in his time (and some not so great as well) but will his new project thrive or die? The Passion is a movie about the final hours of Jesus on planet earth. That’s not so strange, but the entire dialog will be in Latin and Aramaic. No subtitles. When asked in this interview, why do yet another film on the life of Christ, Gibson replied, “This film will show the passion of Jesus Christ just the way it happened. It’s like traveling back in time and watching the events unfold exactly as they occurred.”
‘The Lion, the Witch in the Theatre‚Äô
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis launched many a child’s imagination with this rich and colorful fantasy epic. The books were published over 50 years ago, and now they’re finally getting to the task of re-creating the first book in film. Much of what exists today in the world of fantasy and sci-fi fiction, owe their careers to the receptive public that Lewis nutured with Narnia.

Just remember that this French-bashing is all in good fun. Really it is. Why don’t you believe me? ;^)

REbranding Humor
Hollow and typical. That’s the kind of inaccurate language being used all over the country by business. These folks are trying to set a new direction by REbranding. Of course, these brands mock as they teach.
Unreal 2 Just So-So
It turned out that Unreal II was just decent. Now I’m jonesin’ for some new video game excitement. Doom 3 won’t be out ’til October, November or later? Enter the Matrix looks promising, but it’s a couple of months away. NoLF2 just wouldn’t run on my computer. That sucked because the first episode was quite good. So which one of the best-selling games should I be looking at? I’m going to have to go with Icewind Dale 2 because with that $20 rebate, it’s only $8.99… whattadeal!

Next Vid on Deck
Almost done with System Shock 2 and I’m wondering what comes next? Some of the same guys who worked on this game also did Deus Ex. The sequel, Deus Ex: Invisible War is in development and won’t be ready for some time… what to do, what to do. Guess I could buy Operation Flashpoint: GotY Edition? Any recommendations?
Screaming Monkeys
Someone asked me the other day what video game I was playing. I told them Unreal II. Finished it up, and it was pretty fun, but by no means innovative, just more of the same.
Which reminded me… remember how cool System Shock was? Well, I didn’t want to go back that far, so I loaded up Irrational’s System Shock 2 and have been playing it for the last week. It’s incredible. I have to say it’s the best video game I’ve ever played in terms of how much thought and attention to detail went into this game. Do yourself a favor and buy it. As a bonus, since it’s quite old (1998) your current machine should be able to run it with all the graphics maxed. Beware the screaming monkeys!
