MS Paint Artist Has Mad Skillz
Simply amazing skills on display by SWMoore who used only MS Paint to create incredible stuff. The only significant tool of the program is Undo.
Bellagio Fountains on Coke
I’m sure many of you have already witnessed the greatness that is the Mentos/Diet Coke Fountain exhibit. For a little behind the scenes info, head over to c|net for their video interview with co-creator Stephen Voltz.
If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed it could produce that much force. Kinda scary thinking that we eat and drink these ingredients. What’s next? Sour Gummy Bears in Buffalo Wing Sauce?
Inspiring Creativity
Whoa, RealLifeTM is taking it’s toll on me. Sure, life in Cyrodiil is moving along swimmingly, but that’s another story.
What do you do if your work demands creativity and the well is empty? Inspiration.com isn’t going to give it to you. World of Inspiration is nicely done, but a different animal. Beliefnet has inspiration of another kind.
Media Inspiration is closer to the mark but where are the grand experiments? The true right brain theorists? I’d love to start a collection of links to sites that promote this kind of thinking. Who would like to start?
Toshiba’s Gigabeat S Takes on iPod
I don’t want to rehash all the specs, just go to c|net for that, but suffice it to say, the new Toshiba Gigabeat S is a worthy competitor to the iPod.
iPod fanatics feel free to chime in and tell me I’m wrong. I know you want to. C’mon… go for it. ;^)
At $300, I’m finally tempted to join to the portable digital music crowd because I won’t have to deal with iTunes. Here’s the video first look.
Design Matters: Saturn Sky
I’m not in the market for a new car, really I’m not. It’s just that it’s soOOoo fun to window shop. Or in this case, Internet shop.
Given my less-than-stellar, second-hand experience of a family member’s Saturn, I cannot consider myself a fan. Then they come out with this.
Now, I would never purchase something as expensive as a car solely on appearance. I’m not Dorian Gray. But the beauty here does cause one to pause. Now that I think about it, apparently I’ve been thinking about it since August of last year.
Lego Master 2006
Each year Lego holds a competition to determine their park’s next master builder. This year’s winner was Jason Poland of Houston, TX. Now that the competition is over, Mr. Poland can now resume his cartoon watching and video game playing.
Interactive Communication at T-Mobile
It’s not stunning or even all that remarkable. But what it is, is good communication. As more and more people are taught to scan out text, pictures need to communicate. Interactive pictures are even better!
So instead of blocks of text, or even simplified charts, T-Mobile creates a little do-hicky that engages the visitor to learn about their phone plans. While not perfect, (I would make the links blue rather than pink, or at least underline them) the concept is simple and straight-forward. If price is your primary concern, use the slider. If minutes, click the up/down buttons. My hat is off to the visual designer who created it… great job!
Giving In To Temptation
Usually it’s my brother who’s out nabbing up the latest and greatest technological marvels. (He got the gene from my Dad.) But today, wonder of wonders, my current cellphone’s battery suddenly stopped holding its charge. Hmmm…. and this right after I saw that new cellphone commercial too…
So I HAD to get a new phone, right? And why shouldn’t I get one that’s so bloody freakin’ stellar I shouldn’t be allowed within 10 feet of one, much less owning one? No reason really. Thus behold, the wonder that is the Samsung t509.
If you tell my wife, I’ll hunt you down.
MacBook Joins the Party
The new MacBooks have been announced and it seems there are some worthwhile improvements. Not only does the new hardware boot in 1.4 seconds, it automatically loads the last program/file you were working on! Then it computes the most likely lottery numbers and automatically orders what you’re missing in your fridge. And! It says nice things like, “You’re soooo good-looking.”
Ok. I made that last one up.
Because I Can

Saw this tutorial over on Coudal and thought who better to represent our day and age but the despisable yet compelling figure of O. J. Simpson. It’s sad but there are probably people out there who idolize this man.
Update: And then he goes and tries to sell The Bronco.
Tara Donovan’s Art
I love this computer-like stuff in the sense that it’s one “thing” replicated into a more naturistic pattern. The next step, at least for me, would be to create one of the Vail Ski Resort or something. How cool would that be? [via Coudal]
Living Homes Make Good Sense

There are just too many worthwhile ideas in these Living Homes for them not to take off at some point. It might also be a good idea to come out with a version that’s less modern and more traditionally styled, but I’d buy this first model in a heartbeat. It’s useful, as well as aesthetically pleasing. At least to my eye. [via Coudal]
Sacred Ink
Take a look a few tatted-up individuals tell their story. Great stuff. There should be more sites like this where people let their loves and interests lead them to others with similar outlooks.
A Moment of Zen 3/29/06
My first impulse upon seeing this amazing photo was that it was computer-generated. I’m not sure whether that’s more of a compliment to the power and proficiency of the new computer systems or a slight to the amazing photography skills of Mr. Duran?
