Richard Simmons, King of the Uncomfortable Situations

Warning: This video is not for the easily squeamish but it’s hilarious. I love how Wayne Brady was curling up in the fetal position afterward. Richard Simmons is one strange guy.

  1. Daring to dream – Tiny Elliott County takes on the big boys in Kentucky’s one-division basketball tourney
Great story about the small town team succeeding against the odds. Just goes to show how big basketball is here in the state of Kentucky. Did you know that “Sweet Sixteen” is a registered trademark of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association so anytime it’s used by an outside source *cough* *CBS* *cough* they receive a royalty?
  2. Which state shows the most Basketball love?
Kentucky #1, Kansas, North Carolina Follow. But of course! Nobody loves basketball more than we do!
  3. Gadgets that broke our hearts
It’s just as important to know the bad along as the good.
  4. Is Facebook evil?
Maybe not all of Facebook but certainly the lawyers who are trying to take the rights to our content. If you post content on Facebook, you might want to follow this story.
  5. “Rock Star: INXS” Singer Says He’s Homeless and Bandless
Any of you remember back when I was blogging Rock Star: INXS? It’s been four years almost. Wow. Anyway, rock stardom isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Apparently, the contest winner J.D. Fortune followed in footsteps of deceased, former frontman, Michael Hutchinson’s shoes by becoming addicted to cocaine. So the band dropped him after the tour was over. Win some, lose some. I feel bad for the guy but come on… did any of you NOT see this coming?

Worst Basketball No Call Ever

The ref who should have made this call should have to pay back the money he made for this game… times five. I previously posted the Worst Travelling No Call Ever and it was even worse than this one. But since this is Duke and everyone hates Duke, I’m giving their boy the nod. [via RockTheWristband]

Obama’s Stimulus Package Now Law

This bill is so large it takes an army of lawyers to sort through it and even they don’t necessarily agree about it. One thing is certain, taxpayers are footing the bill—about 10 grand worth for each family.

This from the FRC:

With one stroke of the pen, President Obama vaulted into the record books yesterday, signing what may stand as the largest spending bill ever passed in the history of America. The legislation itself is eight inches thick, so large, a White House aide joked, that it “needed to be strapped in with a seat belt on Air Force One.”

Instead of relieving debt, President Obama’s “stimulus” is expected to add $9,400 more debt to every family in America. According to the Congressional Budget Office, that may be a modest estimate. If the programs created by the stimulus are made permanent (as the late President Ronald Reagan said, “A government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth!”) the 10-year cost of this bill will be $3.27 trillion–almost triple the initial amount. Let me put that into perspective. If we spent a dollar every second, it would take 31,688 years to spend one trillion!

Unfortunately for U.S. taxpayers, there seems to be no caboose on this money train. The ink had barely dried on the stimulus before President Obama called for another $50 billion to stabilize the housing crisis. The auto industry is also striking while the money press is hot, lining up for another $17 billion handout–on top of the roughly $20 billion carmakers already received from Washington. Wall Street’s finest are not far behind, as plans for a TARP 2 (Troubled Assets Relief Program) are already underway.

Go back through our history and you will not find a single case where an increased tax burden increased economic activity. I understand why the Democrats play the “tax and spend” card but what I don’t understand is why so many people vote for this methodology, especially since there’s no track record of success.

It is words over actions yet again.

Joaquin Phoenix Has Done Lost His Freakin’ Mind

It’s an arrogance of sorts. Who knows the history between these two but most assuredly, this is one of the most bizarre interviews this television viewer has ever seen. Some are saying it’s part of a mockumentory that Casey Affleck is putting together.

  2. iPhone satisfaction not guaranteed
In summary: Shop the plan not the device. AT&T is still not up to Verizon’s level of network performance. Also, the BlackBerry Storm doesn’t have WiFi and no one knows why.
  3. Hulu: We’re evil, and proud of it
Very funny ad. Not sure what to make of the service just yet.

Best Superbowl Ever

What a game! I was hoping the Cardinals could have come out on the winning side but losing to Pittsburgh is no huge failure. The finish was insane. Major props to Santonio Holmes and Big Ben.

The above E-Trade is my favorite of the Superbowl commercials and it didn’t make their Top 10. Huh?
