I’m slowly getting better and it’s SO much fun. I can beat all the songs save that Iron Maiden killer on “Hard” and am now working through the early songs on “Expert.” I’m young again!
  3. Video: CNET’s Best of CES award show
CES is a massive event so it’s great to have it boiled down to the most important products/services. Then they make a video out of it. Thank you CNET!

    Whaaa…? No lasers?!? Pfft.

Rock Band Update

Anyone wondering why I haven’t posted about Rock Band in, oh… the last 24 hours, needs to know our TV stopped suddenly and I feel like someone who was forced into a cold-turkey detox center. It’s just plain cruel I tell you!

As of now… I just hope to survive until the weekend.

Someone might want to tell these kids to slow ‘er down. Don’t want to show the neighbors up now, do ya?
  2. Study to Probe Vitamin C, Cancer
This wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest. The whole idea behind time-released pills never really convinced me, but going intravenous makes a lot of sense!

Abortion Case to Appear Before China High Court

China has a horrendous track record in the realm of human rights. In fact, they’ve crossed the boundary into megalomania. But now there appears to possible be a crack in their great wall. For the first time, the country’s highest court has agreed to hear a woman’s case that contains the following, grisly details.

Jin Yani, who violated Chinese law by becoming pregnant five months before she wed, was ready to deliver her baby when family planning officials appeared at the couple’s door. They escorted her to a local abortion center, where her unborn child was given a lethal injection and later removed from the womb. Jin lost so much blood as a result of the procedure that she was hospitalized for six weeks and, in the seven years since, has been unable to conceive.

It’s reprehensible what the Chinese government has done to literally millions of their own citizens. Someday, judgment will come to those responsible. But for now, I would welcome a bit of reason amongst the irrational mandates.

A Rare Thing on the Internet, Complete Transparency

It’s not a common thing to find the complete telling of one’s soul. If you’re up to it, you might want to read Andy Olmsted’s posthumously posted thoughts.

One point is ironclad, “…while you’re free to think whatever you like about my life and death, if you think I wasted my life, I’ll tell you you’re wrong. We’re all going to die of something. I died doing a job I loved.”

Well said Andy. May God bless your legacy.

UK v. UofL: 2008 Edition

Everyone knows there’s more pressure on the favorite (Louisville -2.5) to win this game, what with all the pre-season expectations. Sure, Kentucky was supposed to be better than this, but losing this game wouldn’t surprise most UK fans this mostly down season.

Update: Cards blow Cats out Louisville 89, Kentucky 75. Not a fun game for a Cat fan to watch. Please Lord, help Billy G. get some good recruits!

  1. AP Critics Choose Year’s Best Films
Critics grow further and further from the mainstream. The only movie on either list that I’ve even remotely interested in is The Bourne Ultimatum, which one critic ranks 10th out of 10. Goodness.
  2. Aussie Rocker’s New Gig: Politician
It wasn’t too difficult to see this one coming, given the highly political nature of Midnight Oil’s music. He’s much scarier when he’s not smiling.
  3. Outsourcing Pregnancies to India
I’m not sure what to think about this, but once thing is certain, these kind of new medical practices are going to become more and more common.
  4. Mobiles get Nunchuk controller
Really? And here I thought the carrying around 1 peripheral was the way to go. Actually… I do like saying Nunchuk. Say it with me. “Nunchuck!” Seems like there’s a joke in there somewhere.

Conan Gets All Edith on Rock Band

I KNOW! What is this?!? The all Rock Band, all the time blog?!?! Right. *pause* The first step towards recovery is admitting there’s a problem.

I already know there’s a problem. But it’s a problem I immensely enjoy!!

I need to do my full-blown Rock Band write up but I just can’t tear myself away from the game long enough to write it. That’s in addition to my other full-time job and I like to call Eye Hand Coordination Improvement on the PC. Uh huh. I’m sick.

Oh yeah, Conan is a freak!
