- Grad student suspended after pro-gun-rights e-mail
So it’s only the freedom of certain kinds of speech? Kind of hypocritical don’t you think? Nothing bothers me more than the abuse of power—crooked cops, dirty politicians, etc. This is the same kind of thing. The supposed intellectual elite are really just using their positions to promote an agenda. - HD DVD Beating Out Blu-Ray
Does this put the XBox 360 above the PS3 now? - Hoosiers lose scholarship, Sampson loses bonus over calls
Once a cheater, always a cheater? - False starts in race to future of DVDs
“But only when you consider that the studio sold more than 5 million copies of 300 on standard DVD does it become clear that all this posturing is over less than 5 percent of sales.” Guess we’re still a long way off from learning who’ll win this one. - Pittsburgh church offers dramatically different worship
The Church isn’t a where but a who. I love this stuff!
Kentucky Defeats #1 LSU in Three OTs
There’s just so much to say but you’ve got to hand it to the coaching staff. Teaching these kids to believe in themselves is their crowing achievement. Well, that and upsetting #1 LSU 43-37.
Share Louisville Tweaks Other Cities
I came across this blog today and read about our new Share Louisville campaign. The author was more than a little perturbed by the ads. In fact, he wrote a “scathing” email to the gentleman.
I think he’s got it all wrong. It should be fairly obvious that these spots are practically drenched in sarcasm. They run in the Jon Stewart line of “news.”
But past all of that, the ads are hilarious!
“She longs for a house payment, because that would mean she actually lives in a house.”
To quote Kenny Banya, “That’s gold, Jerry. Gold!” My hat is off to the Branding Project for showing some creative nerve.

- Gazelle Group Shouldn’t Bend to UConn’s Whims
Apparently, UConn told the organization to drop Holy Cross. And they did? That’s messed up. [via aSoB] - Video: Photoshop Express in action
Powerful and easy-to-use. Should be a winner! - Domino theories for Microsoft’s Surface PC
I’ve posted about Surface before. This thing is going to be absolutely stellar, oh wait… Microsoft is doing it? Scratch that. At least it looks slick. - Grandson of Jonestown founder is making a name for himself
Jim Jones was a bad guy. It’s cool that his grandson can help improve the family name. - A Death in the Family
What do you say when you learn that your own words were part of the cause of someone’s death?
Fantasy Football Is Killing Independant Paladin
For those of you who play fantasy football, you know how painful it can be at times. Take for instance this headline:
Jaguars’ D limits Chiefs to 10 yards rushing in win
Um… that might not mean much until you learn that the Chief’s primary running back, Larry Johnson, (my 1st round draft pick) has once again laid the proverbial egg. When you think that my 3rd pick of the entire draft is currently just the 24th best RB, yeah, that’s just kinda sad.
Guess it could be worse. I could have drafted Stephen Jackson. Ow.
‘Levels of Losing’ Up to 16
Bill Simmons has updated his Levels of Losing, now calling it version 2.0. I still haven’t received even a simple thanks for my info-gadget that makes them easier to scan.
Given his complete lack of gratitude, I doubt I’ll be updating my widget.
