Patterson to Decide Today

Today’s the day. After (literally) years of waiting, we’ll know whether Patterson will attend the University of Kentucky or some dung heap. Given our current front court, it’s painfully obvious that we need this young to step in and produce. Presser is at 3:45.

Update: IT’S KENTUCKY!

Planned Parenthood Is Interested About One Thing… Money

Planned Parenthood may claim to care about “woman’s rights” but their actions say otherwise.

A story out of Mason, Ohio paints a horrifying picture of just how far Planned Parenthood may be willing to go to attract young abortion clients. In what prosecutors are calling “one of the worst cases of child abuse” in Warren County, a local man has been sentenced to five years in prison–one for each year he molested and raped his own daughter. The abuse could have been prevented, or at the very least, cut short, the girl’s attorney says, had Planned Parenthood intervened when the young girl reported her dad at the clinic where she was forced to undergo an abortion. Rather than help the hurting child, lawyer Brian Hurley alleges, Planned Parenthood preyed on the girl’s vulnerability and refused to intervene as the law requires. Instead, clinic workers performed the procedure and sent her back with a supply of birth control where her tormentor continued sexually assaulting her for another year and a half.

In 2006, the girl was so terrified that her dad would also abuse her sister that she shared her story with a high school official, who, unlike Planned Parenthood, contacted police. Tragically, her situation may not be an isolated one; many others are made possible by the government’s funding of Planned Parenthood. Similar allegations have been raised in Indiana and Kansas. In the Sunflower State, former state attorney general Phill Kline has obtained abortion clinic records that appear to show a long trail of criminal neglect. Hurley thinks stonewalling on such cases will not work, “If we ever do get a look at all the records, it will …show… [Planned Parenthood] set up a system to prevent reporting abuse. Some people roll their eyes when you bring up abortion. Nobody rolls their eyes about abuse.” Planned Parenthood officials in Ohio deny they have a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy about statutory rape. But read on.

Pretty twisted, huh?

Little Bear Is Growing Up

While he’s not breaking any growth records, Barret is still growing and showing us that he can develop with the best of them. These days he’s walking on his own (with his arms in the air like an orangutan), saying new words like “Amen!” and eating every Goldfish in sight.

Survivor: Fuji – Finale

Insane. This season was absolutely insane! The twists, turns and deceptions?!? Can’t say it was my favorite season because the people I liked didn’t win in the end, but it was certainly very engaging.

Years from now, when we look back, here’s what we will remember:

  1. Dreamz: The Liar
  2. Earl: The Lucky
  3. Cassandra: The Loser
  4. Yau Man: The Lamentable

I’m a Guitar Hero Legend

Did you see that headline? I did it! I’ve accomplished my goal. I beat Guitar Hero 1 & 2!!

(Did you ever think you’d be reading those words coming from a 41-year-old Real Estate agent?)

Now the task becomes, how can I get a copy of Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s before it’s officially shipped? Any ideas? I’ll pay! Big money!

Survivor: Fuji – Week 13

It’s amazing how time flies. One minute I’m posting about Survivor Week 10 then *woosh* it’s already Week 13! So I apologize about missing Week 11 and Week 12. They were good shows too. I guess my Alzheimer’s has arrived ahead of schedule.

This week’s episode has some amazing tension and strategy—both key ingredients in captivating drama.

Yau Man Yau is clearly the signature player this season. For him to give Dreamz an expensive truck shows he’s playing to win. So here’s my dilemma. If Yau is so gosh darn smart, why the heck did he basically give Earl the second hidden immunity idol? Is there some rule that says he can’t hold more than one? I would have told Earl a fake third clue and grabbed that puppy for myself. I’m just glad he played his at Tribal Council. If he hadn’t… wow… that would have been one of the worst choices in Survivor history.

Earl Earl is still biding his time and looks to be in great shape, except for the fact that both Cassandra and Dreamz decided to stab him in the back. He can still go damage control and ride this one out.

Dreamz Can’t say this guy is dull. Dreamz always keeps us on our toes. Going after Yau was pretty much his only move and winning over Cassandra shows he can play the ladies. But will it be enough? So much depends on the type of challenges down the stretch. And Boo can still surprise some people as evidenced by his last two Immunity Challenge wins.

Cassandra Went with Dreamz over Earl? Could be packing her bags very soon.

Boo Why hasn’t more been made of Boo’s name. I mean, his name is Boo for heaven’s sake. Boo!

Voted Out

Stacy Nice try, but Stacy was never a serious competitor in this game. Plus, she’s kinda boring.

Survivor Finale tonight! Don’t miss it!

Ruby Denies O.J., Prepare for the Backlash

It looks like Louisville is in the national eye and this time, not just because of Derby. Angie Fenton first wrote about how local restaurant owner, Jack Ruby, denied service to O.J. Simpson and his entourage last Friday.

Ruby took issue, not with the alleged crimes of the ex-football great, but with his attempt to profit from it.

Repeated winner of the Most Predictable Comments Award, Rev. Louis Coleman, said “We’re challenging Mr. Ruby on this, because if he gets away with this, he can tell … any group he doesn’t want you in there.” He also found time to lead a protest in front of Jack Ruby’s Steakhouse yesterday. (Where does he find time to minister?)

So now it looks like Simpson will sue Mr. Ruby claiming race discrimination. Which is patently absurd considering Ruby served Simpson before the book idea, Ruby served Michael Jordan mere minutes after Simpson was asked to leave, and Ruby serves hundreds of African-American patrons every month.

I don’t know about you, but I applaud Mr. Ruby’s stand for what he believes in. As the owner of the business, I think that should be his right. If he puts off the wrong crowd, capitalism has a way of making things right.

I only wish I could afford to eat at Mr. Ruby’s fine establishment. I hear it’s fabulous. (Be honest, you thought I was going to end with something else, right?)

Mencia v. Rogan Battle on YouTube

I’ve been posting a lot about YouTube these days. There’s just so much to be found!

Today, I’ve been learning about the Rogan v. Mencia fued. I’m pondering whether YouTube is a means to justice or merely a marketing outlet? It seems everyone has an opinion about it. Even Pauly Shore.

So, is Mencia a hack? Or, is Rogan merely promoting himself? I guess that’s for you to decide. One thing is certain, the future will have more and more scenarios like this one unfold on the world’s nets as we all watch on.

Gas Out on May 15th

I make no claims about the validity of this information, so it’s on you to do your homework pally.

Don’t pump gas on MAY 15th

In April 1997, there was a “gas out” conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that’s almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn’t) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ”Don’t pump gas on May 15th”
