Why WorldCup Will Never Succeed in America
Question: Why won’t soccer ever succeed in America?
Answer: When you play two non-stop 45 minute periods and don’t score a single point, it can’t possibly compete with sports like football, baseball or especially when compared to the hyper-scoring of a sport like basketball.

That’s actually why basketball is very dull, they should just give them 70 points each and play for 5 minutes.
Don’t follow your logic there Rick. So when a team accomplishes a goal, that’s dull? Then why not play Capture the Flag where whoever scores 1st wins?
Soccer needs a few rule changes. Bigger goals would help. In Australian Rules Football (the BEST game anywhere!!!) they have four goal posts. If you kick the ball between the inner goal posts you get 6 points. If you kick the ball between an outer an inner post you get 1 pt. Imagine soccer if there was an outer goal and an inner goal, with say, 3 pts for an inner goal and 1 for an outer goal. All those near misses would score. Then, I could get interested.
As a spectator I’d rank the various sports 1. Aussie Rules, 2. Rugby Union, 3. Baseball, 4. Rugby League, 5. Gridiron, 6. Basketball 7. Ice Hockey, 8. Cricket, 9. Field Hockey, 10. Soccer.
But my real passion is marathoning. Almost anyone can do it and it is such a fun challenge.
Wow, as a spectator I’d rank Baseball below Fly Fishing and possibly even the Iditarod. ;^)
