Philadelphia 5 Set Free

Apparently freedom of speech doesn’t apply equally to everyone. But never fear, in this case truth won out. Public demonstrators, some now known as the Philadelphia 5, who were arrested for speaking out against homosexual marriage have been set free.
<sarcasm> How could they let these ruffians back on the street again?</sarcasm>
Airports Are Death
Anyone who has spent any time in an airport has a HATT—Horrific Airtravel Tragedy Tale. I know I do. Now so does The Sports Guy. Isn’t it strange how we can take joy ourselves in other peoples pain?
Introduction to Ajax

Jesse James Garrett does a walkthrough of Ajax—the newly emerging technology found in applications like Google Maps. Because the Ajax engine puts some logic on the client side, responsiveness goes through the roof. Now if they can only marry this concept with Flash we’d have a truly rich multimedia experience.
Friends of Iraq Blogger Challenge
I’ve joined the TTLB team to help the people in Iraq. Spirit of America has chosen to set up this friendly little competition where teams work to outdo each other raising donations to buy goods for the Iraqi people. Here’s our donation page so step right up and show ‘em what you’ve got! Right now we’re currently in 4th place so c’mon guys!
Now, if you really want to man-up, join our squad and you can check the tally in real-time.
Honestly folks, there plenty of great charities out there. I just feel so inspired by our troops giving so much and here I am living in the greatest country on earth. Giving money is a small gesture by comparison.
Kentucky vs. Alabama

Big victory today against #16 Alabama and the boys stepped up! With the 78-71 win, Kentucky is guaranteed another SEC Championship. The big story was Patrick Sparks hitting 7-of-9 second-half three pointers. I like it, like it a lot.
Before the Matrix
Pain. Pain like you’ve never known. I challenge anyone to watch the entire thing. Not that I could have done better but production value is the one thing in which Hollywood excels and we’re all inoculated. But if you’re up to the test, head over to Cesam Productions for the 20-minute prequel to The Matrix. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
(FWIW, I only made it to the 6:32 mark.)
Beware the Gravitar

I like the idea, I really do but can we trust you? It all just seems so “something-I’m-going-to-regret-here-I-am-with-egg-on-my-face”. But, it’s a free country and if you think Gravitar’s are the greatest thing since Coke-flavored Slurpees then go right ahead.
Of course, I could be totally wrong and no one will care a whit either way. Regardless, thank you Mr. Poon.
Got FireFox? Need Patch
One of the great things about FireFox is that it isn’t Internet Explorer. Let me clarify. Because it’s not the most popular browser, the malicious people don’t target FireFox for hacks. Well, until now. Never fear, the good people over at FireFox central have made the security patch readily available and free to all. Patch away friends.
Airbag Interviews kottke
Greg does a great job with this interview on Jason’s new and scary life. Please no more webcam!
Fantasy Survivor: Week 2
I’m off to a good start—tied for 2nd in my tribe with 114 points. Woohoo! (I’m Biscuits and Gravy, for obvious reasons.) Now we know who to shoot for, it’s “chaching” whatever that means.

Caryn really pulled through for me this week with 50 big points. That first interview is big! No way she gets it again, I’m gonna move her. So who to pick, who to pick…
Bobby Jon is a bit of spaz, so that might make him a target but with Kim and Jeff getting hot and heavy, I’m thinking they’ll be the next likely to get the boot. Unless for some reason Angie ticks off the Ulong. Not bloody likely.
On the Koror side, I’m gonna let my money ride with Ian and swap Katie for Tom. With Katie recent failure in the physical challenge, it might come back to haunt her and Tom seems to be a doer rather than a sideliner, better to score points with my precious.
Here’s my old and new lineup. Wish me luck!

iPod Be Damned
Not toeing the company line, Blog.Outside.The.Box outlines his two big complaints with the iPod; a phenomenon that seems to have single-handedly saved Apple’s yearly numbers. Lileks disagrees.
Wolves in the Hen House
Remember that nasty program called Gator? It was the particularly heinous one that would load all kinds of spyware, popups and all-around craziness. Well, they’ve gone through the witness protection process and came out with a spiffy, new name—Claria. So now, imagine my surprise to learn that the DoH has appointed this one-time cyber-bully to the federal privacy advisory board. Can you say, “What the?!?!”
Maybe software companies can be rehabilitated where thieves and murderers can’t?
He’s Dying, Jim
How many of you have seen this?

Hotmail outages are “peeving” some users. You think? If anyone wants a shiny new Gmail account, just email me and I’ll hook you up.
Typedrawing

I’ve always been interested in design. Type is useful design. Typedrawing combines the two in an elegant, easy-to-use application. Great stuff. [via Presurfer]
