Record Label Putting Artists First
I’m not the biggest fan of Evanescence, but I sure do like their label. For years I’ve been waiting for the huge record labels to give way to a more diverse collections of artists, and in turn, music. Now it looks like the smallish label, Wind-up Records, is turning some heads by working with artists in it for the music and then letting them go to it. Until someone puts together the MegaMusicTM website where people can sample and buy a song-at-a-time from a vast array of artists (Indies too!), the Big 5—Sony, Warner, BMG, EMI and Universal—will rule the industry with an iron fist. Go get ‘em Wind-up!
