Free Speech in America

Robert Foor has put up a neon sign on his building that reads, “Jesus is Lord”. The borough manager, John Montgomery, wants him to take it down. Montgomery said, “So many things about the sign look so outlandish, and the message has nothing to do with it.” But do you think he’d be trying to squash Foor’s right to Freedom of Speech if the sign read “Hot Dancing Girls” instead?

Group Hug for Hamas

Hamas won’t join truce talks but is anyone surprised at this? If Hamas is about anything, it’s hating Jews so having a truce wouldn’t fit into their agenda. Maybe they need a big group hug?

A 3-Hour Tour…

Mark Frauenfelder and Carla Sinclair, with their two daughters, are moving from L.A. to Rarotonga, one of the Cook Islands, over 2000 miles northeast of New Zealand. Robinson Crusoe he isn’t. He used to work for Wired. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to hear the Vegas over/under on this “excursion.”

Condone or Not: Big Difference

There’s been a lot of focus on Eric Rudolph, the abortion clinic bomber, lately. I was listening to Glenn Beck during my lunch break and he was working to make the case that Rudolph, a professed Christian, is no different than the Muslim terrorists. (By the way, Beck is hoot. You should give him a listen.)

But Glenn is missing a critical point. While Rudolph professes to be a follower of Christ, his actions do not match the teachings found in the Bible (Rom. 12:19, I Thess. 4:6, and many more). On the other hand, it’s readily seen that the Koran encourages, if not requires, holy jihad against the infidels for multiple reasons. (Koran 9:14, Koran 47:4, etc.)

Rudolph poorly followed his religious teachings while the 9/11 bombers did well in living (and dying) for their doctrine. Every Christian group that I’ve heard from has condemmed Rudolph for his actions. On the flip side, relatively few Muslim leaders will go on record saying what Bin Laden and his followers are doing is not true Islam.

Sorry Mr. Beck, your argument leaves out a critical component that must be included.

Porn Isn’t Healthy

Spam overtakes legitimate e-mail. So now we should be concerned? Productivity losses. Unnecessary waste on prevention measures. Sure. But all of this is monumentally less important than the cost we’re paying in the negative effects on our kids they are being exposed to absolute filth from the porn spammers.

Parents should all be very concerned as their children go online where every sick pervert can send unsolicited emails with obscene subject lines, even if the child doesn’t succumb to curiosity and open the graphically immoral email. Legislation is needed and it’s needed now. Contact your Senators and Representatives or someday you might hear little Bobby ask, “Daddy, what is a ‘gang bang’?”
