If You Choose Not To Decide…
Bush had a news conference last night. His most vital response was to this question.
And as you prepare the American people for the possibility of military conflict, could you share with us any of the scenarios your advisers have shared with you about worst-case scenarios, in terms of the potential cost of American lives, the potential cost to the American economy and the potential risks of retaliatory terrorist strikes here at home?
His response:
The price of doing nothing exceeds the price of taking action if we have to.
Sure, he could have been more eloquent but he couldn’t have been more right. Just like rock band, Rush, wrote, “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.”
